Terms of Service
Effective July 15, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Neighbr ("we," "us") governing your use of the Neighbr app and services. By creating an account or using Neighbr, you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.
1. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Neighbr.
- You're responsible for your account and for the accuracy of what you post.
- One account per person; accounts are not transferable.
2. What Neighbr is (and isn't)
Neighbr is a venue, not a party to transactions. We connect neighbors who buy, sell, book services, and organize events with each other. We are not the seller, provider, employer, host, or agent of any user, and we do not endorse, guarantee, or supervise any user, listing, service, or event. Any transaction or interaction is solely between the participating users.
Identity-verification and background-check badges reflect a completed third-party check at a point in time; they are not an endorsement or guarantee of any person.
3. Listings, bookings, and purchases
- Sellers are responsible for their listings: accuracy, legality, safety, quality, and any licenses or permits their goods or services require (including food-sale rules that apply to homemade food).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Service fees may apply and are shown before you confirm a purchase. Sellers receive payouts through Stripe Connect and must comply with Stripe's terms.
- For service bookings, payment may be authorized when booked and captured when the job completes. Cancellation and refund handling is described in the app at the time of the transaction.
- Neighbr Pro subscriptions are billed through your Apple account and can be managed or canceled in your App Store subscription settings.
- Listing boosts and referral boost credits affect visibility only, have no cash value, and are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. Neighborhood events
Events are organized and hosted by users, not by Neighbr. Attend at your own risk. Hosts are solely responsible for their events, including safety, legality, permits, and what happens at them. Guest lists show who tapped "I'm interested"; that is not a commitment to attend and not a vetting of anyone. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neighbr is not liable for anything arising from an event organized or discovered through the app.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as needed to run and promote the service.
- You must have the rights to anything you post, and your content must follow the Community Guidelines.
- We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms or our guidelines, and we may suspend accounts (temporarily or permanently) for conduct that harms the community.
6. Messaging and conduct
- Use messaging to coordinate transactions and neighborly activity, not for harassment, spam, or solicitation.
- Message text is automatically screened, and contact details may be redacted to prevent scams. Messages may be reviewed as part of moderation.
- You can block any user; blocking hides their content and stops messages both ways.
7. Location features
Nearby feeds and the Neighbors map depend on location. The map shares your approximate position only while you have it open, and can be disabled in Settings. Location data on the map is approximate by design; don't rely on it for safety-critical purposes.
8. Disclaimers
NEIGHBR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY USER, LISTING, SERVICE, OR EVENT IS SAFE, LEGAL, OR AS DESCRIBED.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEIGHBR AND ITS OWNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM TRANSACTIONS, SERVICES, EVENTS, OR INTERACTIONS BETWEEN USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Neighbr harmless from claims arising out of your content, your transactions, your events, or your violation of these terms or of any law.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 2, 4, 5, and 8–10) survive termination.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. We may update these terms; if changes are material, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
