Community Guidelines

Neighbr works because it's real people who live near each other. Treat the app the way you'd treat the actual neighborhood: be honest, be decent, look out for each other. These rules apply to everything on Neighbr: listings, events, posts, comments, reviews, messages, and profiles.

Not allowed on Neighbr

• Illegal anything. Illegal goods or services, weapons, drugs, alcohol or tobacco sales, stolen property, counterfeits, and regulated items sold without the required license.
• Scams and deception. Fake listings, bait-and-switch, phantom events, fake reviews, impersonation, or attempts to move payment off the platform to avoid protections.
• Harassment and hate. Threats, bullying, hate speech, or targeting anyone based on who they are. One neighbor being awful ruins the block for everyone.
• Sexual content and services. Neighbr is not the place.
• Dangerous events. Events designed to facilitate illegal activity or that pose obvious risks to attendees or the neighborhood.
• Privacy violations. Posting someone's personal information, photos of people without their consent in a targeting way, or misusing the Neighbors map to track someone.
• Spam. Repeated posting, off-topic promotion, or mass unsolicited messages.

Meeting neighbors safely

• Meet in public places for exchanges when you can; daylight beats midnight.
• Keep payment in the app. That's what makes disputes resolvable.
• Check profiles: reviews, badges, and history are there for a reason.
• Trust your gut. If something feels off, cancel and report it.

Reporting and enforcement

Every listing, event, post, review, and profile has a report option, and you can block any user from their profile. Blocking hides their content and cuts off messages both ways, and they aren't told.

We review reports and act on them. Depending on severity, that can mean a warning, content removal, a strike, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from Neighbr. Three strikes triggers an automatic suspension and manual review. Illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement.
